KEY John 20:30-31
Many other signs therefore did Jesus in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book:
but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesusis the Christ,  the Son of God;
and that believing ye may have life in his name.
Statements declaring the Son of God.
Joh 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
THE ACTS
of the Apostles
Written by Luke.
F.Y.I. -- Insight -- { Possibly written as a defense for Paul in his Roman trial. }
'John Mauck' author of "Paul on Trial", believes Acts was compiled as a defence of Paul & Christianity for the use of 'Theophilis'
who was probably a cognitionibus (A cabinet member of Claudius, dedicated to pretrial investigation.   Both Luke and Acts were written
to Theophilus.   Beginning with Luke in ch. 1, Vs 3 he is addressed as "most excellent" which is a salutation used for a Roman official. "Theophilus" is a greek name meaning "Lover of God" but in Roman Society the name does not denote a desciple of Christ.
Beginning of Luke
Luke 1: 1   Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us,
:2     just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us,
:3     it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus
:4     that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught
Beginning of ACTS      ("2nd book by Luke" written as a continuation of Luke)
Acts 1:1     In the first book,   { Luke }   O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach,
:2     until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.
:3     He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father:   "you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now."
"Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"   "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority
As they were looking on, he was lifted up, a cloud took him out of their sight.
Two men stood by them in white robes,
and said, "Men of Galilee,
why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven."
And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James.
(Eleven remaining apostles PLUS the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.)
Judas was replaced with Matthias by lot and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.   Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation
under heaven.
